Jovonna is the owner of Lacy’s Defense, and she is a mentee of Jaron Smith “Smitty”. “JoJo” as she is naturally called by her students is small in stature, but she is a force to be reckoned with. She has been instructing for over 1 and a half years, and she has trained over 300 students during that time. She provides a wealth of knowledge to women because she provides real world experiences to support her teaching efforts.
When JoJo is not instructing, she facilitates the instruction of liturgical dance for multiple dance worship teams. She has also been a foster mom influencing the lives of the young ladies placed with her. "I can reflect on a time when she brought one of her foster daughters with her", says Jaron Smith, "The joy on the young ladies face when she saw JoJo in action was priceless."
JoJo is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta where has performed countless hours of community service and support for a number of years.
